These lids contain one self-healing injection port (SHIP) and one syringe filter for providing optimum air exchange. Our lids fit wide-mouth mason jars only.
 
Fill the jar, screw lid on firmly, cover top with tin foil to prevent excess water from sitting on the filter disc, and then sterilize. Grain spawn and liquid culture jars can be easily inoculated through the SHIP which reduces the chances of contaminants.
 
We recommend replacing the filter discs after each use.
We recommend replacing the SHIPs after 4-6 punctures.
